There comes a point in your life when you just gotta say this is too cheap. It becomes a matter of principal at this moment. One the one hand you need a set of cheap blinds and on the other hand is it worth the aggravation? I headed out to find mini blinds for the bathroom and my daughters room. What better place to go then the dollar store. You can't get a much cheaper set of blinds anywhere else in the world. I don't know how it happened but I found the perfect size and the perfect color. It was in every conceivable language except for English. Now I have never seen this before. Everything is always in English, right? Not this time. Off to the internet to search for instructions on how to shorten my cheap blinds. an hour later I was armed and ready to go. Following the instructions perfectly I now had a set of perfectly sized cheap blinds to install in my bathroom.

Back up went the cheap blinds. They fit perfectly and they even went up and down with minimal effort. Something was wrong though. I just started laughing uncontrollably. You could see right through the blinds. I mean why would someone want blinds that they could see through. I'm not voyeuristic and I kinda respect my privacy, so I'm thinking these cheap blinds are not for me.

I understand that you have to cut corners in order to keep the price reasonable. But why would you cut corners on the blind material. If anything use a cheaper screw or a cheaper draw string. The whole purpose of the blind is to keep people from looking in. Instead of having a cheap blind I had a cheap see-through.

Well, another lesson learned. There are cheap blinds out there and with a little luck you will be able to find one that fits your budget and looks good too. You're just not gonna find them at a dollar store.
